At the appointed time we'll meet at the Marques de Pombal square and leave Lisbon behind to start this excursion to Setubal and Comporta. Would you like to visit one of the great centers of the fishing trade in Portugal? And take a horseback ride? Let's go!

We'll travel southeast and, after a 40-minute ride, we'll reach our first destination of the day and start a guided tour of Setúbal, one of the largest cities in Portugal. Did you know that it's considered the most important centre of the fishing industry in the country? To prove it, we'll enter the Mercado do Livramento, the most popular fish market in the town.

We'll review the history of Setúbal while we continue exploring the main attractions of the city, such as the Convent of Jesus, declared a National Monument and a clear example of Manueline architecture in Portugal. In addition, we'll approach the São Felipe Fort, a place that protected the Sado Estuary from invasions and from where we'll have a fascinating view.

After the tour of Setúbal, we'll board a ferry to Comporta, our next stop. During the crossing, which takes about 30 minutes, we'll witness the breathtaking beauty of the Troia peninsula, an area frequented by dolphins -keep your eyes peeled!

Arriving in Comporta, we'll do a very special activity: a horseback ride through this secret paradise of Portugal. Along the route we'll see rice fields, sand dunes and pine forests.

After the ride, we'll return to Lisbon and end the excursion after an eight-hour tour.
